Meet Paul Effman
Paul is a graduate of Queens College, City University of New York. In addition to being a woodwind performer, he is a lifelong advocate of Music Education. Past positions include Chairman of Music at Tampa Catholic High School, Co-Chairman of Fine Arts at Carey H.S. (Franklin Square, N.Y) and Instructor of Saxophone at C.W. Post College.
Over 40 years ago, Paul founded the Paul Effman Music Service, a band and orchestra program designed to provide students in private education with instrumental music instruction. Paul has personally taught many students in New York, and he and the Effman family presently run the service which provides tens of thousands of students nationwide with Instrumental Music Education. In addition to the educational service, Paul Effman Music has studios, piano schools and retail stores in Syosset, Lagrangeville and Poughkeepsie, New York.
In addition to his music service, Paul has extensive musical experience, including a featured performance at Lincoln Center in 2005. While he has knowledge of many instruments, Paul excels on the Saxophone and the Clarinet. He is also on the list of distinguished artists in the Town of Oyster Bay, NY.
His talents are available for hire in the Paul Effman Band.
The Band
The Paul Effman Band features standards and pop music played in an elegant jazz style. The diversified song list includes compositions ranging from George Gershwin to the Beatles and Billy Joel.
Available as: Trio (Clarinet/Sax, Vocalist/Bass, Piano), Quartet (Piano, Bass/Vocalist, Clarinet/Sax, Trumpet), or Quintet/Sextet (add Female Vocalist Anna Maria Villa and/or Drummer)
ILYA SHTEYNMANN
Ilya Shteynman hails from Moscow, Russia where he performed with the Bolshoi Orchestra and the State Symphonic Kapelle of Moscow. Ilya also worked as the principle trumpet of the Spoleto Festival Orchestra, Italy where he was fortunate to perform with Luciano Pavarotti. Ilya is a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory and Manhattan School of Music.
TOM BECKNER
Tom has played piano and keyboards for many engagements throughout the metropolitan area with countless jazz, pop and classical ensembles. He often appears as a soloist as well. When he is not performing, Tom teaches and composes in his home studio. His degree is from the Berklee College of Music.
ROY SPARACINO
Roy is a veteran bassist active in the NY metropolitan venues. His varied experience includes performing in local musical theater pit bands, tribute bands, big bands and small combos. Roy enjoys many genres of music and can lay down the groove, whether it be popular music, straight ahead jazz, R&B, Rock, standards or show tunes.
